2026 Dolphins Season Outlook & Predictions: A True Rebuild Year

By Dolfan Radio Staff • July 2026

This is not the year to expect a playoff push. With major roster turnover, new coaching staff, and key departures (Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle gone), the Dolphins are in full rebuild mode under head coach Jeff Hafley and GM Jon-Eric Sullivan.

Offense: Talent Downgrade & Heavy Reliance on Achane

The loss of Hill and Waddle leaves the receiving corps young and unproven. The passing game will struggle. De’Von Achane becomes the focal point — explosive when healthy, but his injury history is a concern. If he goes down, Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon III will have to carry the load. Tight end Greg Dulcich is average at best.

The offensive line has some promise with Patrick Paul locked in at LT and Austin Jackson at RT (his more natural spot). Jonah Savaiinaea returns to his natural position after struggling at LG last year — he should improve but may take time to regain confidence. Rookie Kadyn Proctor (from Alabama) will compete at guard or swing tackle. He has the size and athleticism to contribute early, but NFL speed will be a big adjustment. Overall, the line is functional but not dominant.

Defense: Rebuilding with Some Bright Spots

Hafley brings aggression and multiple fronts (4-3 base with Wide-9 edges). The defense will improve schematically but still give up yards and points early.

The secondary remains the biggest weakness — young and vulnerable.

Final Predictions

This is a foundational year. Hafley and Sullivan are building something for the long term. Patience will be required, but the future could be bright if the young talent develops and the draft picks hit.
