One year into a four year deal, Kyle Van Noy has been informed by the Miami Dolphins of his release. Van Noy, a two-time Super Bowl winner and team captain, was reportedly stunned after receiving the news, expressing his surprise and disappointment.
Van Noy’s numbers were decent, starting in 13 games and logging 6 sacks, 6 pass deflections and 69 tackles (46 of which were solo). Expect him to be picked up by another team as quickly as possible.
The move will provide an additional $9.774M in cap space for the Dolphins this season bringing their current cap space room to just over $28M. Van Noy was not asked to rework his contract but informed of his outright release, possibly freeing the way for a replacement 1st Round Pick.
My replacement pick would be…. Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
